I agree with the commenter who said that this center is inconsistent. I donated 7 times successfully, but that was six years ago. I have returned a few times since, and every time the staff is rude or incompetent and they continue to ruin my donations. Today when I asked the worker if she was a volunteer or paid she arrogantly replied, _Oh you couldn_t get me to volunteer to stand around and draw your blood all day._ Then she stuck the needle through my vein instead of in it - after she had already taken a fair amount of course. I_d go somewhere else if I were you... I_m definitely not returning. Not for whole blood anyway. |

ONE Complaint - The Columbia Donor Center_s phone answering machine is always full, so I have been unable to leave a message saying I can_t make my appointment. If I call the Red Cross directly, and it_s early, their answering service can_t notify my donor center. There is no way for me to let you know I won_t be able to make it... SORRY. I TRIED. Cheryl L |

Have been a donor there for over 20 years. The staff is very inconsistent, sometimes good, other times indifferent to donors. They really don_t seem to think donor_s time is valuable. |

I give platelets about twice per month. Very friendly staff for platelet donations. They try hard to take care of you. |

I_d say for 90% of my platelet donations, the Columbia donor center and staff have been phenomenal. Courteous, friendly, efficient, attentive... 4.5 Stars from me! |

I had a 6 a.m. appointment, but the doors to the building were locked _ the staff were not prepared to start. After ~10 mins, there was some type of temperature problem identified, and they weren_t allowed to start handling their customers. Very disappointed. Don_t give 6 a.m. as an option if the place isn_t ready!!! |
