To get ready on blood donation make sure to have an appointment first to know when you are coming to have a blood donation. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids the day of your donation. Wear clothing with sleeves that can easily be rolled up above the elbow. If possible, include iron-rich foods in your diet, especially in the weeks before your donation. Bring the list of medications that you are taking, prescriptions or over the counter medications that may be in your system.
