bunch of incompetent workers. blew my arm out twice. Left huge bruises on my arm for weeks because they stuck the needle all the way threw my vein(infiltrate)instead of in it. Front desk staff is rude and childish. Tried to complain and a person told me he was the supervisor, but really wasnt. terrible experience! They should be shut down!

Please update name to Plasma Care. It is confusing since the Blood Center of Wisconsin is nearby. I mistakenly went to the Blood Center of Wisconsin thinking it was this place. The Blood Center does not pay for plasma and the Plasma Center does.

Outstanding service. Yes, it gets crowded there because people need money to survive. The staff are very nice and you will not regret donating there. To know that my plasma will be used to save a life through medical products is why I keep donating, plus I earn spending money. Donating plasma is one way to help another, medical science, and a patient you will never meet, plus help yourself, legally, in this current economy.

Give this place a chance! The people are friendly and do a great job! Plus you can make some decent money!! Thanks to Crystal for explaining the experience. I was skeptical, but since I read her story, it made me give it a try. Was really worth it. I go twice a week now!

The first time we went here, we waited a long time and thought it wouldn_t be worth it unless we came at opening time. We went again the very next, getting there about twenty minutes after it opened. We were told that it is at least a 2 hour process your first time. It took a long time to get called, and we were a little angry to see all the people that just got there get called. But, when we were finally called, it went pretty quickly. They explain things thoroughly and have you read a packet. Then, you watch a movie. Then they weigh you. You do have to weigh at least 110 pounds to donate. There are requirements though. You can_t ever have had sex with a man (if you_re a man), you can_t have ever shotten up, you can_t have any diseases. Then they prick your finger to check your protein level and some other levels to make sure your healthy enough to donate without it being dangerous. Then, on your first visit, you see the doctor. They have you pee in a cup to check some other levels. They give you a little physical exam to make sure everything is ok. Then, you finally go back to give the plasma. You have to wait your turn, as they are very busy. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you_re lucky, you will get Doctor Mark (I think that_s his name, but I_m not sure, he is a black doctor that wears a white coat). They hook you up with the needle. They explain what you should and shouldn_t do. You need to pump your hand while the cuff is tight to make the blood flow. If you don_t pump, it will take a long time to fill the bottle. They actually put the red blood cells back into you, only taking the plasma. It takes around 45 minutes to fill the bottle. Then you call out DC and someone will come take the needle out. They give you a sticker before they start taking the blood. The sticker has a number on it that you need to get paid. The payments are $25 your first time, $30 your second, $35 your third, and $40 your fourth. You do need to go all four times within 21 days. I am not sure what the pay is after that. And when you get paid, they give you a juice and crackers. Well, that_s about it. Oh, and after your first time, it goes extremely fast. You do not have to wait nearly as long or do all the stuff. You just get weighed and finger poked. Well, that_s about it. I thought I_d explain how it works so you might be more willing to do it. You can make pretty much money, but more than that, you can save a life. I hope you do it, it is worth the time. And, if you and your partner do it together, you have someone to keep you company, and you make 50 then 60 then 70 then 80 dollars. The people that donate are not scary and are pretty nice. The place is not dirty and it is not that bad of a neighborhood. Thanks for taking the time to read my super long story. Hope it helps to answer any questions you might have.
