I_m reviewing to get info out there to people who may not know. I was deferred from ever donating at a CSL plasma center today because according to the guidelines they use, governed by the FDA and some German guidelines(where the parent company is), a genital piercing is classified as _high risk_ behavior, right along with IV illegal drug use, prostitution and male on male sex. Seriously-I_m a clean, respectable, mid-30s female, military veteran, going to college right now and I was permanently deferred because I have a clit hood piercing. Also, apparently, tattoos on the face carry the same classification and deferral. They were very polite and apologetic when explaining the deferral to me, but I_m a little upset because this donation center is close by and convenient for me to go visit, and I_m in need of some extra money to pay the bills right now. Overall, the center itself is clean and the people I dealt with were courteous.
