The place is pretty _ghetto_ but I think that comes with the territory - how many people who aren_t hard up are going to spend an hour with a needle stuck in their arm to get $15-$20? (Don_t get me wrong, yay for saving lives, but really, not nearly as many people would do it for free, which is why they pay for it.) Yes, their rules are strict for who can sell plasma. This is to protect the individual selling plasma, as well as the sick people. And to cover their own butts. If you go there when they_re busy, it_s obviously going to take longer. If you go when they aren_t busy, you can be done in an hour and a half, give or take. (You do have some control over how long the process takes.) Anywhere you go, you_ll find good phlebotomists and bad ones. If you go regularly, you figure out who to avoid.

This is the worst place to many ghetto people as well as the staff is straight from the ghetto. They take for ever to do everything and when you politely ask questions they are rude and don_t even care about you. I donate, I_m a customer, not them they treat people horribly and its so unprofessional its ridiculous. Take FOREVER TO DONATE! If you want to waste your time, get treated badly, have ghetto people everywhere even trying to bum change off of you while you donate, and have unprofessional staff be rude to you and talk rather than do their job, just to get paid a measly $30 then be my guest. First and last time I go here there are other donation centers and this is one to NEVER GO TO.

This was my first time donating plasma. So I wouldn_t know how to rate this against others. It certainly wasn_t the horror story some have told. As a first time donor I was there a total of 4 hours. I wanted to try to go at 6am to see if things could be quicker, but it didn_t work out. Overall it seemed pretty efficient, considering I had to go about 4 different places before I could start giving. I have waited much longer to be seen by 1 person in an ER for actual emergencies. So 4 hours to check in, read donor disclosures, watch a video, go give info and take the questionnaire/quiz thing, go get pricked and tested, then go be examined by a nurse and then go give plasma for an hour- not too bad. The pay for the first 5 visits goes 50,50,35,35,50. Looks like it_s $20 for the first visit in a week after that. 37 bucks for second visit if over 175 lbs.

they do a lot here to make the flow of donors as seamless as possible, they have people there that are competent and at least try to solve issues when you try to raise an issue. no plasma place is ever going to be 100% all the time, I_ve never had a hematoma from their phlebotomist cause they never have a problem letting go the bad ones.

the staff are more interested in talking to each other. They treat you like you have nothing else to do. the least amount of time to expect to get out of there is three hours. I have twice been there for four hours. the terminals half the time do not take you fingerprints so you spend extra time signing in. The staff are friendly but you are not processed steadly. They will stand around and talk and not process you which takes more time. For twenty dollars for 3 to 4 hours is not worth the time. I did stop going even though I needed the money. it was the closest to me which I had to travel for 20 minutes to get there.

Bring your social security card, a piece of mail from the last 30 days, and valid photo id. If you weigh over 175lbs it_s $50 for visits 1,2 and 5. $35 for under 175. Staff is friendly, call ahead for wait times.

Compensation for your first 2 donations is $50 each. The third is $35, and 4th $50 I think. A minimal physical is performed on your first donation, _ every 6mos. So your 1st visit may take 3 hours. Subsequent visits average 1.5-2 hours. Hydrate and avoid salty, fatty food the day before to reduce donation time up to 50%. Thurs-Fri is busiest, avoid waiting by going early Sun-Tues mornings. Blood from EVERY donation is tested for STD_s, including HIV. You _ the CDC will be notified if you test positive for HIV or other incurable, blood transmitted diseases; and barred from donating throughout the State, if not nationally. All supplies used to collect blood from donors, needles, etc. are NEW, unused _ their packages opened in front of you by a phlebotomist who inserts the needle. Be aware the staff works hard for little pay, and get a lot of hostility from patients. Be courteous _ patient for a smooth visit.

I_ve been here a few times, but why I_m not sure. The staff is rude, disorganized, and more concerned with chatting with each other than getting anything done. The made me wait for HOURS in the waiting area the first time. I went up to the desk after two hours or so and they said someone would be right with me. An hour or so after that I went back to the desk and was told they_d forgotten about me. Awesome. Getting through after that took way too long. The staff seemed to be confused at every step of the line. Lines were too long. They only had 2 lab areas open and kept complaining to each other about how they cut back on staff. It_s dirty too and I_m not so sure they are really following safe guidelines. Places like this must absolutely market to the unemployed and desolate because the hours of some of these places make it impossible for someone who works a regular job to get there and donate around their work hours. The doctor who did my physical was exceptionally nice, but I will not go back to this place.

Went as a first time donor early Friday evening. They were busy and hurried people who were slow to respond when called, which I imagine is why all the complainers here say they are rude. In reality, the staff was polite and friendly. I managed to get in and out in about two and a half hours with my $15 in hand, which was good since I had first-time paperwork and a physical beforehand. There were some shenanigans about the ATM breaking down, and lots of lighthearted banter between the regular donors and the staff. If you are stuck up or racist, it won_t work for you. If you_re reasonable, I recommend it.

There are also other companies that pay much more for plasma, the only thing is you have to be sick. This company looks for people who have auto immune disorders or viral infections and pay as much as 500 each time you donate.

Went there for 1st time 7/17/09 8:30 AM. Absolutely NO accomodation for a 1st time donor. Suggested that I wait around for about 8 hours to see if they could find me a spot. 2 women argued about the way to handle me. Finally a fat semi-toothless woman decided she was in chanrge _ told me there was NO SPOT for ANY new donors at this time. The black people, however, were taken care of promptly. I will NEVER go back. I_ve donated over 10 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. I needed some cash today. Guess I_d better find a more efficient way

I_ve been considering giving blood, however, why would they place this business in it_s current location? It_s downright frightening for a woman to go there. Are they trying to make the money for blood thing attractive to the homeless and addicts??? (I_m totally serious) I_m still checking around, if there is a different plasma center in a better location, you can be I_ll be there instead!

You dont even have to go to school to work there! And the staff is half gay, you know some gay people got AIDS. Do you want somebody with AIDS around your blood?
