Staff are full of shit. Needs to be rebuilt from manager down. They invade your privacy as well as take advantage of you if they feel they can get away with it. The donors are donating away their life-force for almost nothing. They make you out to be insain so they can tell you to leave untill you pay for medical assessments that you dont need. Worst donation center on the map is located on Tunnel rd. In asheville NC. Wish i never donated a drop.

This place is a mess. Up front the supervisors are rude and unprofessional in every way they have no personable qualities and think it_s okay to treat those under them like shit the managers are always running around acting too busy with other things to realize how bad the customer service is from the people left in charge being there makes me want to hurl because of all the horrible vibes throughout the center. The hardest workers there at the bottom of the chain in command are treated the worse and they wonder why they have such a high turn over rate. The company_s focus is off with how people are being treated, the saddest part about that place is all the drugs that go around and not just with supervisors but training coordinators too and they get paid such a great amount to just fuck around and harass other people about doing their jobs right when they don_t know their own to begin with. Basically most of the people left are the most miserable with theirselves and their lifes so their goal is to make everyone else around them unhappy .. If you_re thinking about coming here please save yourself _ DONT

I hate to say it but i agree with every negative thing i_ve read on here. Seems like to work there you either have to be a huge douche bag, a complete and total slut, a drug addict, or just straight up suck at your job. I stopped donating soley because of the complete lack of professionalism displayed by every employee/manager i encountered.

The employes that work there needs to watch there mouth. I don_t have anything against gay people but when I come donate I don_t want to hear who is sleeping with who. Raleigh the nurse is to beautiful to be going out with that ugly blond head girl Courtney. Im tired of hearing about who is doing Molly, smoking pot, taking adderall and so much. And if your a supervisor you shouldn_t be buying pills from your co workers Seth. Nikki and Karen who are manager and assistant managers shouldn_t be smoking pot with there co workers either. Very unprofessional place. I will not be donating no more but I shall be calling corporate on some of you guys especially Nikki Early. They never can keep anybody there. The main person I like was the young black girl Brittany with the dreads it was a damn shame letting her go over what someone said that was a lie and you guys know it if you really cared about your staff you would have known that man had it out for her the moment she started. It_s a shame you let the good ones go and you keep the bad like Courtney, BB, Seth it_s a crying shame. BB is the most aggravating person I have ever met she isn_t a good phlebotomist I don_t like her mouth or her attitude. Plasma Center need to be rebuilt from manager on down in that plasma center. I will never be back corporate will be hearing from me.

Plasma centers do not take male-to-female transgender people because of our medication. yet they will not tell us at first. Wasted an hour and a half of my time, and all the gas left in my car. If they are sending away transgender people, they need a sign on the door the says they won_t take us. Might as well discriminate in our faces instead of behind our backs.

I have been donating for awhile and I have t to say the negative posts I have been reading here are correct. This place Plasma Biological Service in Asheville has the most unprofessional staff and management I have ever encountered in a medical facility. Their employees lack maturity and compassion toward the donor who has an unsuccessful donation due to infiltrating the donor_s vein. They act like they could care less if you have a big bruise going half way down your arm. When you approach them about it, they don_t take any responsibility for their actions. I hate donating there now and I never want to go back. I hope someone complains to the FDA and the entire place shuts down until someone else can run this business correctly.

I have been donating for about 4 years now. It seems now that every time I go in there anothor one of my favorite workers is no longer there. Shannon, Nikki, and Feleesha are gone. Now I just found out that Chelsea doesn_t work there anymore either. That makes me sad because she was awesome. Seth and Celeste are still there but aren_t meant to stick people anymore. Which sucks because they always did a good job on me. There are so many new workers there now and I have had mixed experiences with them. Mel is very nice but talks way to much and can_t stick my left arm. Josh is very good for being one of the newest people there. Nate has been there for a long time and is one of the best but I hardly see him there becasue hes part time. Zach is good but doesn_t stick around to see if the stick is ok. Also if my machine alarms 9 out of 10 times he just hits a button and walks away. Honestly I think that they are all pretty good people. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The only person who I don_t understand how she is still there is Donna. She is slow, lazy, gossips a lot and hurts me everytime. I have seen her be friendly to somebodys face but as soon as they walk away she talks smack about them to other workers or even donors. I find that highly unprofessional.

I_m a new donor; 3 visits so far. Got Sissy first time; she told me that \_hemocrit\_ was how hydrated I was, and I should drink more water. Dictionary gave me proper pronunciation, and told me it was amount of packed red blood cells. How is drinking more water going to raise red blood cells? Rusty water, high in iron? Got long haired guy with black glasses, second time; no problems. Got sissy again last visit. Needle kept hurting. Alarm on machine kept going off. She said I wasn_t pumping hard enough. Finally Nikki answered alarm; adjusted needle: pain stopped. Alarms stopped. Not going back unless I can find out if I can request who I get stuck by, Need to avoid sissy.

You need to change the map and the picture on this site; you now have someplace with real parking! If you are a new donor, stay away from the little girl who has SiSi on her hat. She waits at least 10 minutes before she answers the machine alarms. She will tell you that you are not pumping hard enough, which is why you have a HB error, and one of the other girls will walk over and get the kink out of your line (which Sisi installed) fixing the problem. She is really bad for infiltrating my veins, at which point I have to get someone to change arms. She has also ripped out the needles at an angle that does not match my vein, leaving a rip that bleeds instead of a small hole that clots. The wait at the new place is longer, but if I can avoid HER, I don_t mind it too much. That girl is either inept or vicious.

last week I was doing a physical to attempt to \_donate\_ and on my way to the restroom I overheard a man snapping at the women behind the desk, they calmly listened and reacted in a very professional way but he continued to argue with the employees untill insisting to speak with someone higher up. when the manager stepped out and spoke to this man it was entertaining to see him slip off his pedestal, she approached him with respect, facts, and chances to get over this hurdle and begin to doante. being able to watch what could have been a confrontation made me appreciate these ladies for what they do. I could never imagine dealing with difficult people like that on a dialy basis. I am excited to get to know these employees better and become a regular donor. Thanks for a fast friendly expereince

when the center was on merrimon, pretty much every aspect of the visit was frustrating, but thankfully the new center meets every expectation i could imagine. The wait time is much shorter, all the employees are super friendly and happy to help you with any questions or concerns about donating. I feel as if they have began to take more pride in the work they do, because the efficiency has absolutely skyrocketed. I have been donating for about 6 months and have met some employees who would make any compnay proud to be represented with such a wonderful attitude. Seeing the folks on a weekly basis makes me thankful to have such a place. I would recommend coming here to anyone i know because I have never been disappointed by this company. Management has done an incredible job of selecting their employees to work the front (I beleive they are considered donor processors) because these ladies and gents have a way of lightening your spirit and helping you see just how much of a good deed you are doing for the community and the world

For the most part I have found the staff to be pleasant and accommodating with the exception of the nurses Kim (who never smiles) and Raleigh. I feel like I will scream if I have to hear about Raleigh_s sex life anymore!!! While Nate is a nice guy, he has no business with a needle in his hand. The \_ladies\_ at the front desk really could really use a dose of professionalism. I don_t know her name - but thank God the girl with long, dark hair, who worked the middle desk is gone. The young blond that works there is wonderful. I think Jess needs some more training before being turned loose to stick people. I believe that Celeste and Seth make a great supervisory team. While not trying to hurt her feelings, I really feel that the staff needs to be more careful when they are complaining about Donna and the amount of times she calls in sick. They are very unprofessional regarding her. I am hopeful that once they move everything will improve. I really love Shannon, Billy, Nikki, Seth and Celeste. The pay is still low, but for one hours worth of risking your health and having your arm carry needle tracks it is worth the 20 to 30 you make depending on your weight. employees are still treated badly but as long as they have a job they just suck it up. just keep your noise clean , do not talk to anyone you can not trust.. always smile even if you want to cry. be nice and do not tell on others unless it really really involves doing something wrong on the job. be nice to management even though they are not nice to you and you will someday make 10 dollars a hour after 5 or 6 years

It doesn_t matter when or why you use your phone, if you are on the bed and you use it you_re only meant to get FIVE $$ so they actually gave you more than you deserved. There are signs EVERYWHERE and if you donate regularly you should know better. Same with eating/drinking on the bed, sleeping or \_resting your eyes\_. These are rules put into place by corporate and the phlebotomists are obligated to enforce them. In fact, they can/will be written up by management if they let donors break rules. Enough write ups and they could get fired. The phlebs already deal with A LOT of B.S. on a day to day basis from donors. Although most of the ppl who donate are normal and cool; many donors are rude, sexist, creepy, and quite literally stink. So why should the phlebs on top of that tolerate anyone blatantly ignoring a rule that_s posted every where and could get them in trouble?? So you_re never coming back there, GOOD. I have been donating at the center for many years. I listen and pay attention to everything that goes on and what everyone is saying. Here is what I can tell you: To any new donors- FDA regulates how they process your info. It_s not personal, that actually is the rules. Yes, the questions have to be asked and your finger has to be stuck EVERY TIME. As far as the staff goes- the manager Nikki is under qualified and unprofessional to say the least. Her volume is too loud, she dresses like an escort, and she fires anyone that challanges her authority-she has a big head and is on a serious powertrip. The other \_managers\_ are also horribly under qualified. The troll Kim up front is just as irritating as Nikki and talks to staff and donors alike as though she is their mom- highly unprofessional. The staff turnover is due to the fact that anyone who has any education higher than the managers pose a threat when they attempt to correct issues. In reference to the staff with colored hair- I have been processed by them, they are actually very smart, I know at least one of them has a 4-yr degree. The older staff up front-bless them-try hard but do things all wrong. The loud fat dark haired girl(chassie or something that sounds like a car part) is far more involved in talking about herself than doing her job. The floor staff is a coin toss. Some are great at their job, others, well there is a reason you have to sign off that you won_t sue them. And evidently, all you have to do is lie about travels or being gay or tattoos or jail, because there are plenty of people in there donating every week that blatantly lie about all of those. In the End- can you make a few bucks doing something that benefits others? Yes. Is it safe? Mostly. Should you expect to see the same people for very long(other than management)? Not likely. And, in all honesty, if the comments are coming from ex-donors or ex-employees there is probably merit behind what they say.

It is a job to have between jobs, because no maatter what you will be fired from there eventually unless you are managemnet. It could be for a good reason, or just becasue, as this is a right to work state. You may get a raise after one year or you may not, and if you do it will be anywhere from 10cents to 25 cents a hour, but you probably will not last that long. with few exceptions most do not last but 1.5 years. managemnt is scared of corporate, but why corporate does not wonder why the turn over rate is so high is question . they will be moving to a new building soon so the parking issues they have may soon be gone. the parking is limited in back, and 1/3 of the spaces are for management. the job is easy, but stressful the pay is low, better off to go work for Bob Ingle, or even WAL mART

well it is not complaining. IT WAS the easiest job in the world. But the rules where constanaly changing. And if you are not management eventually you be fired for not very much. Management watches out for each other, and fixes thier misktakes, but any one else the mistkae will get fixed and forgotten or you will be wirtten up and then fired. THAT IS THE WAY it is and it does not matter, as for what they pay you can find another job. where managment is not so petty, where managmenet does not encourage poeple to rat others out. it just a shame to fired from a place where even a 5th grader could do the job, except for the blod sticking. i am talking about the front desk donar area...where most are fired, you have to be under age 35, be a snitch and have only a high school graduation to stay there.

I was terminated while on a doctors note. I can_t come back because management said \_NO\_ with no reason. Pay is not enough and the rules are stupid at best. Alot of the donors that were turned away would have been excellent donors. Some of the ones we stuck were the worst. HOw they got back there I will never know! Overall, besides Tamara and a few others, that place sucks.

Staff as a whole are excellent!!! I have been coming twice a week for a long time now, and have no problems. I have had 2 bad sticks, outta over 100, so 98% is not bad. I think they have the best staff of phlebotomists ever right now... A long way from how it was last year! So what could be improved? Pay the heating bill, or offer some warm blankets like the hospital. If it was a cold night that building is like 40 degrees all the next day. And when the saline hits, you about go into convultions. Also, I think the phlebs need longer lunch breaks... C_mon what can you do with 30 mins on Merrimon ave? Overall thanks guys! My recommendations: Celeste, Betsy, or Tamara... but they are all good at their job... Those three are the best!

FDA should regulate them better, I have donated 3 times only because I need the money. My arm was cleaned with that solution they used, in the beginning i was told not to touch it, not to blow it, so I followed what i was told, but the person who stuck me was blowing on it and touched it! I will never come back to this place again!!!! NEVER!!! i am glad i didn_t get any infection, but if i did, I am calling the FDA on them!

a couple of months ago i was permanently denied from donating my plasma because I spent time in jail for 4 days and did not answer yes to the jail question, when I was told the reason for banning me, I understood and accepted it. but last friday, my buddy who was in prison for 6 months, by the way, he was selling drugs, is now getting money for his plasma?? what gives?? what FDA regulation are they talking about?

What most of the people who make the negative comments don_t know is that plasma centers, despite their negative image, are regulated very heavily by government agencies. They can_t just take any Tom, Dick, or Harry of of the street (despite of what everyone thinks). If a crack head or a homeless person makes it through and you don_t, it really is a shame. I know it is a surprise to most people, but ther are flaws in Government regulation! LOL! The folks at the plasma center don_t have a choice whether or not they can take your info. If it doesn_t fall within the guidelines set by the FDA, it can_t be accepted. I don_t care how nice you are, how clean you are, or how much you think you are owed the opportunity to donate. If a crack head makes it through with all of the acceptable required information required by the FDA, it reallly is a shame. If you understand the process, you could understand why it isn_t as easy as one would think to donate plasma. Unfortunately, the majority of folks that make it through are a bit unsavory.

I regularly donate at the center because I had family who needed plasma. I have no complains about this center, they do a good job dealing with donors with the exception of some girls up front who are at times not in their best mood. I give the center 4 stars! and to the mild mannered accountant - Im sure glad they sent you home because I wouldn_t want to be donating beside you, who knows what bug/insect infested you could be the ones that carry west nile virus? lol... take it easy mild mannered accountant.

I called this location to find out what the pay was, the hours _ what I needed to bring my first time in. The staff member who answered the phone didn_t give me a name, so I asked, I asked about payments _ didn_t get a straight answer, Ok, that may be policy. I was told I needed a photo ID with a \_local\_ address (I have recently relocated, but I do have a PO Box) or some type of official mail with my local address on it. I was told new patients we not accepted after 4PM. I arrived at 3:50, there was no one in the waiting area, but I was told I was too late. I stated \_I called _ was told 4 o_clock, the clock on your wall says I have 5 min.\_ The first staff person went to a co-worker who came back _ said, \_You can stay, but it will take you four hours to finish\_. Remember, there is no one in the waiting room, if a donation takes 1 1/2 - 2 hrs., how could my visit last 4? Never the less, I had other things to do that evening, so I left. When I returned several days latter I presented the desk worker with my DL (does not have a local address, relocating, remember?) and several pieces of mail, one from the State of NC, one from my US Senator to my POB. I was told this isn_t sufficient, I needed a phone bill or water bill. Again I argued that this is not what I had been told on the phone. I decided to go get my DL address change. NC is now mailing new DL cards to the card holder instead of issuing a card on the spot, but they do issue you a address change form, stating that they will mail your new license to you in 10 - 15 days. So back to PBS w/ my STATE issued form showing my address, sorry, that isn_t good enough, but hey, we can mail you a post card to any address you give us _ with the post card you can come back _ all will be fine. Now, if I was trying to be fraudulent, couldn_t I just say may address is what ever the address of the flop house motel I was staying at, Apartment #3 _ then I would have my post card sent there? What is the deal here folks, these folks at the front desk act as if they don_t want any new customers. If this is any indication of how \_donors\_ are treated on a day to day basis this is a very bad omen. I_ll up date if I ever get past the front desk.

We have made 3 visits there and haven_t been able to donate yet. The first time it was close to 4:00(we called _ were told 4:00 was cut off for new donors). They told us there would be a 3 1/2 to 4 hour wait. There was no one waiting in the waiting room and only 2 people in the interview area. We both thought they just didn_t want to do it. The next visit they told us we had to have something with our current address on it since we just moved here. We went back with a statement from our bank that was mailed (not forwarded) to our new address, a letter DH received from the US Senate (mailed not forwarded), and a couple of other bills (that had been forwarded). That was not sufficient so we went to get new drivers license. Mind you the bank statement was sufficient for the DMV to issue a new license. We got back with the now paper thing they give you at DMV (since last Wed. your drivers licenses are now mailed to you from Raleigh). We were told that was not acceptable because it was not mailed to us. Hello, if we had gone in prior to last Wed. _ gotten our drivers license it would have been handed to us instead of mailed. Every time they asked for something different or told us something different. Our documentation satisfied the state DMV office but not this Plasma Center. I_ve never done this before but I can_t imagine all offices being run like this or they would be out of business.

All you have to do is make conversation and they are more than willing to chit chat and make this a good experience for you. Management definitely has issues, but you only deal with them when you pick up your money before leaving. Say no to all the questions it looks like you should say no to. Stay calm and breath deeply because you can be turned away if your vitals are out of range. Make sure you bring a DMV issued ID and your social security card your first time.

Now there were two ladies that were so kind Tamara and Melinda they need to be mgrs. they were nice they to seem to work very hard and they were focused. Floor staff, very nice and hard working. Management has a perpetual air of superiority which they bestow on the staff and clients alike. Always an undercurrent of disgruntledness among workers. Management is rude. Water fountain out of service for 6 months, through the heat of summer, (while they drain a quart of liquid from your body?!) and don_t allow you to bring a drink. The central airconditioning broke and instead of fixing it or replacing it they hooked up two small portable units and some fans. With all the money they make off the clients, they should be more conscientious toward them.
