I cannot give a rating of this business because I have not gone, Yet. I had been thinking about stopping in to see what it was all about, and getting some extra cash sounded great! So, I searched for a little while and finally found this website. I_m assuming most of these comments are pretty legitimate, so It_s looking like I wont be paying Talecris Plasma a visit anytime soon. Thanks for your honest reviews.

Terrbile, In the ghetto, Ran Ghetto, I didn_t even go there but my sons mom did and from her stories, which I warned her would happen before she went, The place is trash. Terrible customer service, Terrible treatment of clients, I_m sure if someone wanted to take the time and look into their operation they would find many problems when it comes to meeting code and safety standards. I wouldn_t be surprised to read in the future that someone gets some type of blood disease from this place handling their business wrong. Thats what happen when the ghetto runs a medical business.

I have been donating twice a week for a few months now. today was my 11th donation, actually. Talecris placed an ad on craigslist.org I needed the cash.My boyfriend and I went in and were able to get $200 which we used to pay part of our rent. My overall impression: 1st off I was a little nervous as I drove down Dorr st and the neighborhood just got worse and worse. Ive heard how dangerous the _guetto_ of Toledo can be. The parking lot is fenced and the center, in general, doesn_t look very nice from the outside. But in need of rent $$ we parked and went in. The waiting area was packed full of people. All different kinds of people. A few shady characters, some loud funny people that were obviously regulars, young people, older people, white people, blackpeople, an asian or two, indian lookin_ people, and Ive seen mexican lookin_ people in there too. The staff at the front desk seem stressed out but I know what that_s like as I work in customer service. I ended up waiting like 2 hours to be called up for a physical, that took another 45 minutes, then I had to wait to be seated in one of their nifty weird recliner chairs, then another 10 minutes before the flabotomist in my section could hook me up. The needles were huge! It took like 2 hours to actually finish the donation. So all in all I spent about 5 or 6 hours there. I had a \_reaction\_ to the blood thinner I guess. My legs got all tingly and so did my arms and I almost passed out. I felt nauseous sothey put an icepack on my chest and another behind on my neck. I was concerned but I was reassured by the doctor thatthis happens sometimes with first time donors because our bodies are not used to this amount of volume loss in our blood. I felt better after the saline return cycle and after I left and ate something. I continue to go back because I like the extra money, and it isnt that hard anymore, if I drink enough water and eat a protein rich meal before I donate. I would like to say, though, that the skinny blackdude in charge there is a bit of a prick. He has no customer service skills what soever. But everyone else there seems to be very friendly.

First of all making an appointment isnt possible they never answer the phones. Second my first time took from 9am until 6am and 100.00 a week no 50.00 1st visit 5.00 second visit. The womens bathroom was disgusting, dirty, and made me want to vomit. I stayed went through it they gave me crackers and juice but I got sick to my stomach, they had to cold pack me and calm me down. It was awlful for 50.00 I never went back for the other 50.00.

The staff is exceptional and the movies are new and environment is the same every week. You will get to know the people that come on a weekly bases. If you have no income this would be a perfect way to average about 250 a month. They offer bonus so that amount willgo up.

Reading almost weekly ads in the Toledo Blade offering $100 a week to first time plasma donors I was interested. What I found was a seriously disorganized operation. Having been a blood donor to the Red Cross for decades I expected some level of professionalism. What I found was that donors were expected to get a complete physical which is not unreasonable. However a physical at Talecris according to clients there will occupy from 8:00 AM until 3:30 or 4:00 PM. The first time I came I was told it would be an hour and half until they started processing me and if I came back another day at 8:00 AM they would process me immediately. I found that customers wait and are told to come back tomorrow at 8:00 AM regularly. They didn_t even open until 8:15 AM though the starting time was 8:00 AM and made new donors wait until 8:30 AM when we were finally allowed to sign in. New donors are put on a list when they might be seen but ae told others may be put ahead of you. No such thing as first come first served or honoring appointments. When you divided the customer time spent by the compensation given you must be serving some really desperately poor clients. If you want I will gladly at the rate of $50.00 an hour offer you suggestions that will bring some professionalism and customer care to your operation. By the way after wasting more than an hour I left and will not waste more of my life being ill treated. David J. Neuendorff Toledo, Ohio
