So, You Want To Be a Plasma Donor?

Donor Eligibility

To be a plasma donor for BioLife (or any plasma donation center), the following requirements must be met:

• must be at least 18 years old (maximum age is 69)
• must weigh at least 110 lbs. (about 50 kg.)
• must eat well and have ample liquid intake
• must be in good health
• must feel well on the day of donation
• must provide identification with proper information (photo, signature, birth date, acceptable donor identification number
• must have a legitimate proof of permanent address

Plasma Screening

Upon completing the requirements, a potential donor must pass the medical exam and survey of medical history given to them.

Before becoming a qualified donor for BioLife, a second donation must be completed within 6 months of the first donation, along with a second round of screening and tests. If passed, then he/she will be considered as a legitimate donor, and his/her plasma donations will be considered for use. This is to ensure the quality of the plasma and safety of future receivers.
