This particular patient will walk, so he isn't a big threat, but once the fuse is picked up, he will follow Miles for the rest of your time in this area. The best way to avoid them is to rush down the left corridor (while facing the double doors) then hide around the right corner (or hide under the bed further down the corridor). Dash directly ahead.
