The Boston Medical Center is a private, not for profit, 500 plus licensed bed medical center in Boston’s South End. BMC is the primary teaching affiliate for Boston University School of Medicine.

Pay Per Donation: 0

Frequency of Donation: You can donate blood every 56 days, platelets twice in 7 days. Regular plasma regular donors once every 30 days; serial donors twice a week

Test Prior To Signing up: They test hemoglobin, and conduct a brief medical screening of vitals- like temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.

Time Length for Donation: A blood donation takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Platelets take about 2 hrs, and plasma donation takes about 45 minutes.

Upfront Costs for the Potential Donor? There are no upfront costs for the donor. They did not indicate if there were costs to donate to a certain patient.

History of Center: Been in business 30 years non-profit several centers in the city
