What is donated:
Plasma

What do they do with the plasma?
Plasma is used y make products used to aid with tetanus, rabies, measles, rubella and hepatitis B, and is sold to hospitals and emergency rooms all over the world.

How much does the center pay per donation?
You receive $25 for the first donation in one week and then 30 for the second. Then after that you are considered a regular customer and receive $25.

How often can one donate at the center?
You can donate plasma up to two times in a seven day period.

What tests are performed prior to signing up?
You must be over 18 and must weigh over 100 pounds to donate. New donors must have a driver’s license social security card or proof of residency. They conduct a brief medical history, and determine if you are in good health. Then they check vitals- temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, and check for iron level and protein level with a finger stick.

How long does a donation take?
On the first visit, the whole process which includes the physical exam and the plasma donation it usually takes about two hours. After that it only takes about an hour and a half per donation.

Are there any upfront costs for the potential donor to enroll in the program (startup costs)?
NONE

     @Nate Yes. A chain smoker is unhealthy. You are not allowed to donate plasma.

   I've been told with one full arm sleeved with tattoos that I can't donate because they can't see any veins in the tattooed arm. So is it true that I can't donate plasma ever? Is that true?

   I have a question. I haven't had any tattoos within the past year. I do however, have a full sleeve on my entire left arm. (No skin showing). I was told I couldn't donate because two veins had to be visible. Is this true?
