Puget Sound Blood Center
The Puget Sound Blood Center was founded in 1944 because of the need to donated blood in the local area, before its foundation the nearest blood bank was in Portland, OR.
The Blood Center needs nearly 700 units a month of blood to meet patient demands in Western Washington.

Plasma and platelets
Pay per donation:
no payment for donation.
How often can you donate?:
You can donate blood every 8 weeks, and platelets every 3 days.
Tests prior to donation:
Before a donation they take a brief medical & travel history. They also take vitals like temperature, pulse and blood pressure, as well as an iron test.
Duration of visit:
Takes about one hour for blood, and 2 hours for platelets.
