Source policy
We cite recognized authorities and link to them directly, so you can check our work.
Our source hierarchy
We prefer FDA and national regulator guidance, AABB, the American Red Cross, America's Blood Centers, the CDC, NIH, and NHLBI, major academic hospitals, and peer-reviewed research. For local or center-specific rules, we defer to the individual blood center.
How we cite
Medical and eligibility pages list their sources with direct links. Outbound citation links are genuine editorial references to authoritative organizations.
When sources disagree
Rules vary by center, donation type, and country. When guidance is uncertain or varies, we say so and point you to call the center rather than guess.
Our no-monetization pledge
BloodBanker does not use affiliate links, paid rankings, or ads on mission pages. We do not sell donor health information. We link to official donation organizations so people can donate safely and locally.
