What should I donate?

Different blood types help patients in different ways. Tell us your type and what matters to you, and we will suggest a donation that often helps most. This is general guidance, not a rule. Your center always knows what is most needed today.

Quick answerType O donors are vital for red cell donations like whole blood and Power Red. Type AB donors are universal plasma donors. Type A and B donors are often a strong fit for platelets. If you do not know your type, a first whole blood donation is a great place to start.
Choose your blood type and what matters to you, and a suggestion will appear here. Nothing you select is saved or sent anywhere.

All blood types are needed. Patient needs change, and your donation center can advise what is most useful today.
