Most of my experiences with the employees has been great; they are very kind and concerned for your over-all well being.

I have been trying to get an appt for 3 months and nothing has been available.. Is there another place in the Austin/RRk area ?

The donation center was great, however, the debit card you receive as payment instead of cash has many stipulations and random charges, and even if you use due diligence and try to avoid these charges, you are bound to run into other problems. You must use it at a CHASE atm, but even some chase atms will not work. The donation experience was great, but what is it all for if I cannot use the pseudo money I receive in return.

I liked this place before the change to debit cards. You cant get all your money off the card and they charged me for a new card after they sent it to the wrong address. It was a huge hassle. And I was tired of not being able to get all my money off the cards. Many ATMs will not give you the money and they charge you for using them. Really pissed me off. So I heard about DCI Biologicals. DCI Biologicals on Airport is where I go now. 30.00 in cash each time. No HASSLE. Baxter sucks, but the staff was nice to me. I want cash in my hand if Im going to waste my time and gas to donate.

I've been going here for about a year, so I've seen the change from the mgmt change and wish the staff was friendlier as well as keep hoping they'd bring back snacks. Pros: Staff is getting friendlier, at least with me and I'm a guy. I've seen the male tech.s trip over themselves to flirt and yeah, I see it with the female tech.s too, but it's not too out of hand. The new appt system is good and they're pretty good about getting to you on time, etc. Cons: The WIFI doesn't work consistently if ever!!! This is bad b/c there are many folks who have work to do or want to kill time while they're there and if you're going to advertise this amenity, then PLEASE fix it! All in all, it's not a bad place. If this place cares at all about their clients, I would recommend using surveys at each visit to help improve more and more. There are times when I get an awesome tech, doesn't hurt or anything and then there are times when I get the opposite. I don't know who to tell and don't want to rock the boat too much in case it came back to the tech., I'm sure I'd be in for some pain if they knew it was me :)

I for one like the new appointment system. Before the appt. system it didn't matter if you made one or walked in, but now I go in and usually get started at my appt. time. Things seemed shaky during the change, but any change makes things worse before making things better. Phlebotomists were friendly, attentive and well trained. The bonus offers and raffles are a big plus. All they need is some TV, but I'll make do with my ipod. Highly recommended!

Great place to do some good. With the economy the way it is it is a very busy place. Super clean and nice staff. Bring a blanket-it can be cold after the saline rinse. Can't think of a better place to save a life and earn something for myself. I have all of my co-workers going too. They give you $ for referrals.

Nice place and friendly staff. They even will watch your kids for free-now that is service. It is nice to escape from it all and know you are saving a life. I am a student too so it is a nice break. Would recommend this facility if you want some extra cash.

I donated regularly _ successfully at this facility for about 3 years until I moved out of state in 2001. I moved back in 2008, and the place has DRASTICALLY changed. I have been back THREE times and have still not been processed to donate again- the staff does not know what they are doing, and they give out erroneous information on their own policies. I have never felt so \_given the run around\_ in my LIFE!! I will never go back to this facility. A larger company must have bought this place. the friendly staff that know what they are doing- GONE. Competent phlebotomists- GONE. I have the Alaskan pipeline vein in my right arm, complete with tell tale scar of being a prior regular donor. The girl tried to stick me 3 inches to the outside of that target THROUGH A MOLE that bled profusely and was nowhere near the vein. It is amazing anyone can get thru the red tape to become a new donor. I was told to come in as a walk in. When I arrived, I was told that whoever told me to come in was \_not paying attention\_ and they were unable to see me. If the staff is not paying attention, I want them nowhere near me with that large bore needle!!

Very courteous and friendly staff. Appointment system seems a bit dysfunctional as appointments are frequently overlooked and treated as a walk-in.

This used to be an easy place to donate but when Baxter took over, the snacks went away, the friendly attitude went away, all of the don't do this signage went up and now they treat us like perps! The reservation process is laughable and doesn't work and some of the phelbotimists are barely competent. I hardly donate anymore and I'd really like to smack some of the attitude out of these clowns!

This place is awful! STAY AWAY!!! They've messed up and pierced through my vein twice! I've had 2 hematomas! The internet rarely works, no complementary snacks or beverages, strict rules, unfriendly / unprofessional staff, CONSTANTLY changing hours, *BY APPOINTMENT ONLY to donate!, and so on and so on. This place was recently bought by another larger company that doesn't understand how to treat their donors. I WILL NEVER COME BACK!!! I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO YOUR CENTER!! ***Do you donate plasma?*** You can donate just off I-35 on Airport Blvd. at DCI Biologicals. They are a smaller, more friendly plasma donation center and offer $60 a week ALL THE TIME! So don't waste your time driving to pflugerville, go to DCI Biologicals

Very good blood center. The staff is so friendly and you know you are helping others and earning something for yourself. It doesn't hurt and you get to relax and read so bring a book.

Austin Bio Med in Pflugerville is great. The staff are very professional and everyone is polite. They have a nice, clean facility, snack room, day care, and comfortable lobby. The donation area is large, open and well lit with piped in music. Be sure to bring a book or something to do with your one free hand as well as a blanket if you are prone to getting cold easily. The ceiling fans are always on high due to all the equipment.

Very professional. The first visit takes around four hours and includes various types of testing (blood and urine included). If you pass, the next four visits will be monitored to make sure you don't have a reaction to the donor process.

This place is pretty good. Very professional and clean. For noobs: bring 3 forms of id (driver's license, social security, and bill envelope) and eat a good lowfat meal before coming. Drinking water the day before helps too. Walk-ins before 4pm and appointments.
