I had the same problem as Heather. Donated for years and then when I hadn't been back in awhile they did another physical. I had not had any tattoos in 4years or so. A small dot on my hand I got as a young adult was not recorded on their file when I specifically told them. I mean you can see the dot and how faded it is. Not only that I am a hardworking mature 30 year old man.Why would I get a tattoo of a dot on my hand? They then deferred me for life. Thanks CSL plasma for helping crackheads get their fix.

I was told to go to csl plasma to donate when I was on hard times missing work from a surgery. I called my doctor and checked with her first to see if I was healthy enough to do so. CSL plasma denied me because I was 1 week away from being eligible after a surgery. So I went to another cleaner clinic in Wichita. I gave plasma no problem, but the next time the denied me because CSL put me on a hit list. Now I am denied for life. This process is ridicules. I think my doctor knows better than a NURSE! Not only that I am a good citizen, yet they take plasma from pill poppers, alcoholics, and crackheads all day long. So now I can't help others and myself in a detrimental time in need. THANKS CSL NOT_

They are discriminatng white people, and using any excuse to have you deferred. Not friendly, not helpful, not service oriented. I had to listen and wait in front of two black girls who sat thier and ignored me while they went on and on about some third party friend who was getting a divorce and all the nasty dirty laundry while they were SUPPOSE to be WORKING, and doing my intake. I was later permanently deferred for acknowledging to a anxiety attack a decade earlier (chest pain). Ridiculous. They should be sued for every last thing they own and shut down. They are not in the business of saving lives, just playing ghetto games.

I went in to donate plasma and brought my social and Id and quickly got turned away because my drivers license didnt have JR on it so i go back out to the truck and i bring in my military id which matches my social and they say it wont work because my signature isnt on that id.. Do they think we can just go buy military id's at walmart? what gets me is they can compare my picture id's and clearly see that im the same person. makes zero sense to me especially as i turn around to leave and see a lobby full of drug addicts and hobo's. thanks for helping when i needed it NOT! just make sure if you guys wanna donate, you go get clearance from the president himself. this place is a joke

I was just curious on about how much they pay per donation??

No it doesn't sound fair at all and I must say they have never seemed to keep a consistent standard through the years I have donated. When they need donors and business is slow they seem to take everyone they can. But with the economy like it is today, and people lining up to donate, they get picky. What blows me away is how they have reduced the amount they pay to the donor at a time the one donating needs it more than ever. So yes I agree the tat call was unfair, and I agree I have seen them make stupid calls over and over again, and I agree what happened to you was wrong. There are so many that rely on that money to make it through each week and if they cared for people like they say they would have put more effort into investigating the issue. One more thing...that stupid prize thing they have going is just a ploy to pay less to the donor. No one needs that junk they are promoting to give away. They need the cash to survive! It's just a way to put more money into someone else's hands and to keep the poor poor.

I have been donating plasma at ZLB for about 3 years. Never once had a problem. After reading the last reviewers comment, I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. It is in their best interest to defer in a case like that. Had better measures been taken it wouldn't have come to that. However they must protect themselves from possible backlash. I enjoy the staff, they are friendly and even make an effort to ask me about my job and how my life is going. I started going because I was desperate for cash, and I still go now when the cash is something extra, because I enjoy saving lives and the staff make me feel welcome.

I have been donating plasma at ZLB off and on for a couple of years now and was recently deferred. I was deferred on the grounds that I gave false information regarding my tattoos, which is completely wrong. I was nothing but honest about them and their ages. I had to go through a physical at the center the very first time I donated and they check my tattoos out then and made what I thought was an accurate description of my tattoos. Then after not donating for a bit I had to get a new physical, this is the point where they decided that I have had new tattoo work since my last physical based on the notation given by the nurse at the 1st physical. She wrote that I had a lower back tattoo of a sun with flames and noted the colors that were used. I still have just that tattoo but the new nurse is stating that I have a tattoo of a sun with flames and flames. I don't think that this nurse has any idea what she is talking about. I have seen a doctor about this issue and he stated that there is no way to tell how old a tattoo is unless it is so new that it is still scabbed or bleedy. I don't think that I should be punished for a bad description given by the 1st nurse or punished for the bad judgement of the 2nd nurse for not reading or trying to understand the notations represented to her. I am 32 years old, married for nearly 12 years, a cub scout leader, a elementary tutor, a good apple award winner, and an extremely honest person. I can't believe that they would turn away someone like me and not only that but permanently defer me from donating plasma..I think people that need plasma would be greatly disappointed.
