First of all, this is a Not-For-Profit organization. That means that the point of doing business is to help people - not shareholders. I have been giving blood with this company for years and every single time they are curtious and greatful. To counter other ignorant comments about the price of units to the hospitals. The money has to come from somewhere to pay the people that took the blood, the facilities, the equipment, the technology, the support team, etc. I can't imagine how expensive the price for a unit of blood would be if they paid everyone for it. Not to mention, the lower quality they would recieve from the undesirable people's motivation to sell blood (instead of donating) for \_other than honorable\_ purposes.

This is the company that takes blood donations...then sells that blood to hospitals for $400 a pint! The director of the centers makes $600k per year! Find somewhere else to donate!
