  When Telecris open I was happy to get away from Biomat, because of the wait times and the people there. Now Telecris and Biomat merge and the problems from Biomat is now at Telecris. It went from a enjoyable experience to do I really want to donate today. If you don't need the money I don't recommend going there, I am hoping some one will open a new center with stricter standards.

  I've been donating for a year and I work in the medical field. Yes, there are people who are down on their luck,but there are also folks who work and come by to donate after they get off. I've met all types of people there and I've made many friends and business contacts there, too. One man owned a tree trimming company...he trimmed my trees. Another man is hired to paint the exterior of my house. I met one guy who is a single dad trying to raise 4 kids by himself (his wife died a year ago). So you see, all types of folks go there. The normal visit to donate takes roughly an hour and a half. The first visit took me four hours including the physical and work up. You do get to donate at that time if everything checks out. On a whole, I like the whole setup and the guy who runs it....Don tries to keep everything professional and running smoothly......with employees and donators.

  A bunch of crack heads and drunks going in and out in order to get a guick fix. Easy way to get some change. People with class would not want to go to this place at all. Not professional at all. I feel the pnly onrs who go onto thos place is a drug addict or a alcoholic user.

  Screening process is a joke. People lie to donate and the staff have no recourse except to take their plasma until the tests come back positive for some diseases. I know someone positive for hsv1 hsv2 and regularly has unprotected sex for money. I reported it and she still donates. No one has integritty and this industry preys on the most desperate and destitude people to donate. i fear ever having to use any plasma product collected by biomat.

  This place is awesome. Not only do I get to donate and make a difference in someone's life but I get to see some very pretty girls that work there too. I have been donating for a year now and have no complaints recently. Even though they did have a very rude girl up front she is no longer there. One of these lady's is annoying but the upside is she only works part time. The workers seem to love what they do with the exception of one girl in the back who always looks like she's having a horrible day. The people in the front are courteous and one of the girls always is in a good mood. Nice to be asked how my day is going and as I walk out of the booth she always says have a great day. That makes my day! I would definetly recommend this donor center over Biomat.

  Only good thing about this place is the ATM. The black lady that check your health history, and also does the drug test she's sooo rude. Because of her I won't donate there again.

  I have visited both Amarillo Biomat and Talecris Plasma resources. By far my best experience was with Talecris. Most of the employees are courteous and we address each other on a first name basis. The process doesn't take long and I have yet to see any homeless/crack heads donating. I am a full time college student with a job, so donating plasma gives me the opportunity to help the community while earning bit of spending money. All in all, I would recommend Talecris to anyone interested. Also, my donation time is approx. 42 mins, so I have time to read school books while I donate.

  Worst place ever! Wait was way longer than necessary! The workers were rude an did not inform you of anything! People there had waited over 3 hours just to be called back! Very unorganized!!

  I had bruises in my arms when i was done donating... and everytime i had to fart, the phlebotomist gave me dirty looks as if i had leprosi. I didn't appreciate it. Also I spoke with a supervisor about how I wasn't alloed to bring my fried chicken with me in the waiting room with the bums. Not cool....

  As for one of the prior comments, it's really pathetic that there are people who go out of their way to make fools of themself and prove how sad they really are. I think it's wonderful that people are willing to give the gift of life. I can't imagine if I were in a dire situation and didn't have the resources I needed. Thank you for the chance to give and the gift of others.
