I just give blood through United Blood Services and it's my first time. And I just learn that I can give blood three times a year. Schedule an appointment now and start saving lives.

I gave blood yesterday. My second time giving blood. Very good experience both times. And while I had no nausea; the patient next to me did. And the workers took very good care of him. It didnt take long and its so very important.

To Whom It May Concern: It is my practice to give blood everytime we have a Blood Drive on campus at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Today I entered the donor area at around 12:30. There was one other person before me, a secretary in my department. I was called back and interviewed by a young man who had to leave the area several times to get material he had forgotten. I was finally called to a donor chair, and eventually a young woman came to get the blood. My vein rolled and the needle was stopped up with skin. When asked if they could try the other arm, I agreed. The same young woman prepared to draw blood, left and went over to a table where several of your employees were standing. With her back to me she seemed to be preparing tubes and labeling them. By this time the two women who were prepared before me had given blood, had their snack, waited their 15 minutes and left the room. I finally got out of the chair, forgot my purse, left the room, told the people at the desk outside that I was not waiting any longer and stormed back to my building. There were several phlebotomists standing around at this time. I was the only donor in a donor chair at that time. I was so angry by this time that I asked the secretary to go get my purse for me. I am over 60 years old, grey haired, and was wearing a large red sweater. She is half my age and has red hair. Nobody noticed her picking up a purse and walking out with it. If you consider blood a valuable gift, you need to realize that the time it takes to give blood a valuable gift as well. I do not have the kind of time to watch other people visit. You have lost a donor. Martha
