How do I donate to support trauma and emergency care?

Quick answerThe most direct way to support emergency readiness is to donate, especially whole blood or, for O type donors, the red cell donations that emergencies depend on. Find a center and book a time.

Start with whole blood

Whole blood supports both hospital and emergency supply. For most donors it is the simplest place to start.

O type donors

If you are type O, your red cells are in especially high emergency demand. Your center can guide you toward whole blood or Power Red.

Make it a habit

Emergencies happen every day, so steady, repeat donation matters most. Set a reminder to keep the shelf stocked.
