What should I bring when I donate blood?

Quick answerBring a photo ID, a list of your medications, water, and something to pass the time. Younger donors may need a signed consent form.

The essentials

A photo ID and a list of any medications you take. If you are 16 or 17, bring a signed parental consent form where your state requires one.

For comfort

Water to sip, headphones or a book, and a short-sleeve or loose-sleeve top so your arm is easy to reach.

Good to know

Wear something comfortable and plan not to rush off immediately afterward.
