The first visit is very informative the staff is very good at making sure every question is answered. I have never felt uncomfortable here. Make sure to eat healthy and drink lots of water it makes it easier on you.

I will agree it is not always fast, but in my experience they have only missed my vein once in my 50 plus donations. People are nice and I have been impressed overall. Some people should not donate if they have rolling veins or are a very hard stick. My wife is a good example, it takes a superior person to stick her. Typically a paramedic.

While it's true that on occasion it can seem like it takes a little longer than it should, for someone to assist you, I like the plasma center in Ames. The facility is clean and bright, having just been remodeled. The staff is friendly and the option for child care is really convenient. There are even portable dvd players and movies to borrow while you donate if you'd like.

I would say that Bio Life is sub par. They have poor service in some aspects. People are generally friendly, but trying to get assistance is a nightmare. Also, they workers make many mistakes; more than half the time they miss the vein, or something goes wrong. After donating for a few weeks I looked like a drug addict because they messed up so many times and had to repoke me.
