Donating blood is always for a good cause especially high school students trying to make a difference. But, having friendly staff will make a huge difference on people turning out next time. When my niece tried to donate she was treated borderline rudely for being on the cusp of underweight. Next time she might not want to even try to donate if she isn't treated well.
