I've been a platelet donor here for several years. I don't think it's such a big deal to get a phone call reminding me when I'm eligible to donate, because frankly I tend to forget about it. Love the staff! They always treat me with kindness and respect. Truth be told, they really spoil us platelet donors.

Love the folks who work at this blood bank! It's also good to know that my blood donation goes to patients in the hospital who need it. I found out that only blood from volunteer donors can be transfused to a patient. If you get paid (UBS doesn't pay) then the blood or plasma has to be sold to pharmaceutical labs.

Raul Daniel, former Executive Director, was fired for sexual harassment and a hostile work environment, This is a poorly run organization with terrible and unethical leadership. Primary motivation is your blood and their money...ask for the Blood Services audited financial statements, they will not give them to you. Think about it!

I am always treated with respect and made to feel that I am doing the blood bank a service. I am an avid Nebraska fan and recently while doing a double whammy the staff made sure that I had access to the game. I have never had an unpleasant experience and I give blood oftgen. I also appreciate the calls as they are great reminders that I am once again eligible to give my blood.

They only call when they NEED your blood type!! To take a few minutes for a phone call that could save someone's life is not that big of an inconvenience!!!!!

I recently moved here from Montana and went to donate that month. They were polite, friendly and I had a great experience. I appreciate the calls asking me to come and set up an appointment. My daughter received over 4 litres of blood in a life saving surgery and I am doing all I can to replenish that as she can no longer donate. It is a SERVICE you are doing for your fellow man. A once every 3 month phone call is not an inconvenience for me, I consider it a convenience, one more thing I do not have to remember!

I agree with the other comments. DON_T give them your phone number. I asked them several times to be taken off the calling list, as I am not able to donate any longer, but the calls don't stop.

It would be nice if the phone calls trying to set up appointments would stop. I go when I can and really don't want reminders all the time. Thanks

I donated blood here once about a year ago. Since that time I get a call at least once a month to try to get me to come in again. I donate blood on a regular basis, but don't feel it necessary to call me all the time to get me to come in. I managed to find my way to their location the first time without them calling, so I'm quite sure I will be able to do so again whenever I am ready to donate. I have asked several times to be taken off of their list but they still call each month. The services were fine, but don't give your phone number to these people unless you're willing to hear from them at least once a month.
