What should I do after donating platelets?

Quick answerRest with a snack, keep drinking fluids, and take it easy for the day. If you felt any tingling during donation, it passes quickly. You can give again in as little as 7 days.

Right after

Sit at the refreshment area, have a drink and snack, and stand up slowly when ready.

The rest of the day

Hydrate, avoid heavy exercise, and keep the bandage on for a few hours.

Come back

Platelets can be given again after 7 days. A reminder helps you build a regular rhythm.
