I had a great first-time experience with the American Red Cross blood bank. Everyone I came into contact was super friendly and worked hard to make me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. The staff was all very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of my questions. When I was finished, the man who took my blood brought me a soda and a cookie to enjoy in my chair. I will definitely be going back once my 56 days are up! :)

Be warned. If you don't have an appointment, they'll let you sit there and take the appointments ahead of you. Today (Sunday) was a complete waste of time. Not sure how long they were going to let me wait, but I ended up leaving and didn't donating. Why allow walk-ins if you're not going to take them? I don't think I'll go back.
