The Frederick donor center is fine. The problem is scheduling an appointment. I live in Boyds, not far from Frederick, but when I call, the computer on the Red Cross answering machine tells me that my location is not served by a donor center. Unless the Red Cross wants to deliberately discourage people from donating, I suggest they remove this message from their system, and let people who may not have a donor center down the block talk to a live person to schedule an appointment. Failing that, they could simply suggest one or two of the nearest donor centers, regardless of whether some Red Cross bureaucrat deems them \_too far away\_ or not, and let prospective donors decide how far they are willing to travel.

Post your hour on your website? Then people can find it out.

I like this blood donation center, but the Red Cross is terrible when it comes to helping the donors. I am looking for the hours for the Frederick blood center and I can't find a thing. Why can't you provide the hours here???

Why do you not post your hours on your website? I am considering going by on my way home, but not taking the chance driving crosstown to find it closed...last time I did that the center was closed to blood donations, taking platelets only or something like that. Is this information known in advance or do you just shut down to donations on a moment's notice? Are there really hours of operation or just when employees/volunteers can man the operation?
