I've been a blood donor since 1997, and visiting the Downtown/Meridian location since about 2003. The facility is bright and cheerful, and always very clean. The staff are similarly bright and cheerful, and genuinely happy to be working with donors. I'm not an \_easy stick\_ and the phlebotomists have always been careful and gentle. The one bad stick I had (heavy bruising) was not at this location, and I later heard the person left CIRBC. Downtown/Meridian is my \_home\_ site, and I'll be back again soon :-)

However, when it came time to insert the needle, the talking, etc. did not stop. When someone is inserting a needle into my body, I want their full attention. I did not have a good stick, and so was not able to complete my donation. I don't know if the phlebotomist had been paying better attention that the outcome would have been a success. But, perhaps...
