My wife and I have been donating at least twice a year for many years. We vacationed for a week in the Dominican Republic and were told we could not give for a year. why couldn't our blood be tested for cholera, it is already tested for other diseases. Or perhaps it could be used for research. It seems there is always a shortage of blood and this restriction appears unnecessary to us.
